Curtiss SB2C-5 "Helldiver" owned and operated by the West Texas Wing of the Commemorative Air Force. This is the last Helldiver still flying.
First time I've ever seen the flaps on a dive-bomber. There's more hole there than flap, which my negligible understanding of aerodynamics suggests is to prevent the craft from going unstable at the high speeds and pressure differentials of a full-power attack dive.
Or I could be totally wrong and this was to save weight or something.
